© Anthony Carr 2009 |
Anthony Carr is an artist living and working in London whose practice is predominantly photographic. Much of Anthony’s recent work has been engaged in a variety of subjects from pinhole or lo-fi photography to long exposure, night photography and ideas of surveillance. He has become particularly fascinated by the unpredictable nature of pinhole photography and relishes its mathematical and aesthetic challenges. Anthony has spent the last year developing cameras that record photographs taken at timed intervals. Using rudimentary mechanics, these cameras have been designed to automatically open and close repeatedly over varying lengths of time. His early experiments have concentrated on capturing only the hours of darkness over the course of weeks and months. |
